Twinkle Light Parade, 5:15 p.m. Starts from Central and 3rd Street and moves down Central to the Rio Grande Botanic Garden, a route of approximately two miles. Festive floats, bands, classic and custom cars and much more will make up the City’s major holiday parade. Spectators may view the parade from both sides of Central all the way to San Pasquale, and from that point on viewing is on the south side of central due to westbound traffic being allowed on the north side starting at Rio Grande Blvd. Participation by a wide range of groups is encouraged, and applications can be found online at www.cabq.gov/specialevents. Deadline for applications is November 14. Following the parade, the River of Lights display at the Botanic Gardens is open until 9 p.m. Tickets for River of Lights: $6/adults, $2/children 3-12, and free for children under 3. The parade is free for spectators.

12th Annual River of Lights, daily 6– 9 p.m. Opens immediately following the Twinkle Light Parade on November 29. Live entertainment from a variety of local choirs, Holiday nature craft programs, delicious hot foods and beverages, the G-scale model railroad running from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m., shopping for unique holiday gifts, and more await visitors to this event which has become an important holiday tradition for many area residents. Proceeds from ticket sales help support the Albuquerque BioPark’s BioVan educational outreach program. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m. On-site ticket sales start at 5:30 p.m. and end promptly at 8:30 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased from any BioPark cashier or online courtesy of the New Mexico BioPark Society.
